The queen and the loom
Where architecture became a border.
When Maharani Ahilyabai Holkar made Maheshwar her capital, she invited skilled weaving families to settle beside the Narmada. The patterns around them—temple shikharas, fort jalis and rhythmic stone steps—found their way into cloth.
Maheshwari sarees became known for their feather-light balance of silk and cotton, jewel-like colour and reversible kinari. Our edit honours this tradition with restraint: beautiful yarn, sound construction and the unmistakable evidence of a human hand.

“He” is an invocation—a quiet call of reverence. It holds our gratitude to Maa Narmada, to Ahilyabai’s enduring vision, and to every artisan who keeps the loom singing.
